US Army Recruitment for Citizens and Non-Citizens

Military Job Applications for a number of specialist roles in the United States of America Army have been opened thanks to rules introduced by the US government. The US Army, most powerful in the world, has welcomed soldiers from other countries for many years. A non-citizen can enlist in the military. However, federal law prohibits non-citizens who are enlisted from becoming commission or warrant officers.

Military Job Applications :

Every year, more than 8,000 green card holders but who are non-U.S. citizens join the military. However, recently some policy changes may interfere with the ability of some resident but non-U.S. citizens to join the military, even in a limited (no security clearance) capacity.

Enlistment via MAVNI Program – Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest, or MAVNI, enables non-citizens to join the military with such skills as interpreters, certain cultural knowledge, and even medical professionals. However, in 2014 the program was suspended and the current administration is looking to cancel the program altogether.

Enlistment via DACA Program – Currently, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) may face a new reality in the current administration and could be subject to deportation versus having the ability to work or attend advanced educational opportunities. However, Congress could change direction and allow DACA groups the opportunity to serve in the military.

An enlisted member enters the Army as a Private. After completing basic training, the enlisted recruits advances to Private First Class. The next notable advancement is to a Noncommissioned Officer.

The highest rank attainable in the Army is the five-star General of the Army. Often called a “five-star general”, the rank of General of the Army has historically been reserved for wartime use and is not currently active in the U.S. Army.

To join as a soldier you must:

You must be at least 18 years old to join the US Army as a soldier.
You can start your application when you’re 17 years and 7 months.
Be in Phase 1 training before your 35th birthday.
If you’re under 18, you’ll also need parental consent to join.

To enlist in the United States Army, you must be a legal resident. The Army offers over 150 different careers in a wide variety of categories. The key to your career path is your ASVAB score, which helps to identify the Army jobs that fit you the best.

The Air Force is part of the Department of Defense (DOD). It’s responsible for aerial military operations, defending U.S. airspace and air bases, and building landing strips. The Army is part of the DOD and is the largest of the five military branches. It handles major ground combat missions, especially operations that are ongoing. The Army Special Forces unit is known as the Green Berets for its headgear. Service members are known as soldiers. The reserve components are Army Reserve and Army National Guard.

The Coast Guard is part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It’s responsible for maritime law enforcement, including drug smuggling. It manages maritime search and rescue and marine environmental protection. It also secures ports, waterways, and the coasts. Service members are known as Coast Guardsmen, nicknamed Coasties. The reserve component is Coast Guard Reserve.

The Marine Corps is part of the DOD. It provides land combat, sea-based, and air-ground operations support for the other branches during a mission. This branch also guards U.S. embassies around the world and the classified documents in those buildings. Marine Corps Special Operations Command (MARSOC) members are known as Raiders. All service members are referred to as Marines. The reserve component is the Marine Corps Reserve.

The Navy is part of the DOD. It protects waterways (sea and ocean) outside of the Coast Guard’s jurisdiction. Navy warships provide the runways for aircraft to land and take off when at sea. Navy SEALs (sea, air, and land) are the special operations force for this branch. All service members are known as sailors. The reserve component is Navy Reserve.

The basic entry age requirements depend on whether or not you are entering the regular army, or Territorial Army, as an officer or soldier. If regular army, officers can join aged 18 to 26 years and soldiers can join between 16 and 32 years and 11 months.

1. MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Wellesley College

As part of the Scholars Program, Wellesley will provide nine (9) African women with comprehensive support that includes scholarships, mentoring, counselling, and internship opportunities for undergraduate studies. Scholars at Wellesley will build experiences, values, and competencies that are critical to success in the global economy, and that enable them to give back to their communities and home countries. The students will arrive in groups of three students each year.

Level of Study: Undergraduate degree

2.  MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Stanford University

The MasterCard Foundation education initiative at Stanford University USA will provide comprehensive support to 20 talented but economically disadvantaged students from Africa over the next eight years to gain scholarships in the USA. The Scholars Program will support ve (5) undergraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa each year.

Level of Study: Undergraduate degree

Previous Application Deadline: September to around January/February

3.     MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Arizona State University (ASU)

Arizona State University welcomed 10 undergraduate students from seven African nations in 2012, as the first class of MasterCard Foundation Scholars to begin studies at ASU. As part of this program, ASU will receive $27.5 million over the next seven years to provide academically talented, yet financially disadvantaged students from Africa, who are committed to giving back to their communities and countries, with access to high-quality education. The program will ultimately support 120 scholars at ASU.

Level of Study: Undergraduate degree

Previous Application Deadline: admission application: 01 January; scholarship deadline: February 01

4.     MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at University of California, Berkeley

At the University of California Berkeley, the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program will provide holistic support to 113 students from Sub-Saharan Africa from 2012 to 2020. The scholars will pursue both undergraduate and professional master’s degrees.

Level of Study: Undergraduate and Master’s degree

Previous Application Deadline: For undergraduate: 30 November For masters: falls between 1 December and 8 January

5.     MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Michigan State University (MSU)

The MasterCard Foundation has partnered with Michigan State University to provide full tuition scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa. The university will receive $45 million in funding from the foundation to support 185 scholars throughout the nine-year program, which includes 100 four-year undergraduates and 85 master’s degree students.

In the interview, he admitted to having several girlfriends and claims all his girls know he has other girls. When asked if he will ever settle down with any particular one, his reply is one that will give no woman hope, not even Jada Pollock, who stuck by the singer when his two other baby mamas, Sola Ogudu and Binta Diallo labelled him ‘deadbeat’ father in the full glare of the public.

“That will be hard because I have a lot of women that are really, really dear to my heart,” he said.

Wizkid is known to have romanced many women in his illustrious career, rumour has been running rife that the latest woman rocking the Star Boy’ s world is MAVIN First Lady, Tiwa Savage.

He shared his joy via his twitter handle Monday.

It seems all is not well in the camp of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) owned by one of Nigeria’s finest artiste, David Adeleke AKA Davido. One of its most recent signees, Idowest, who was popular for his ‘Shepeteri’ song has reportedly left the label.

Davido signed the talented artiste on May 24, 2018, and announced on his Instagram page with the caption ‘’Welcome to DMW !! IDOWEST!!!!!! You have proved ur worth!!!! NOW let’s GET MONEY!! JI MASUN’’.
The fans of Davido and Idowest all leapt for joy after the great announcement but 6 months later, all seems to have turned sour between both of them.

On Idowest’s Instagram page, he has also changed his booking mail to his personal one instead of DMW’s.
A few days ago, the rising artiste also celebrated his birthday, a lot of people wished him a happy birthday but DMW Boss, Davido never did, this is beginning to raise eyebrows that all is not well with both parties.
It would also be recalled that they did a song together titled ‘Ji Masun’ weeks after the well-popularised signing.
