3. 2021 UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA DIFFERENTIAL TUITION FEE EXEMPTION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS STUDYING IN FRENCH
In keeping with its commitment to the Francophonie, the University of Ottawa will offer a Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship to international Francophone and Francophile students who are enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program as of September 2021. This significant contribution means that tuition fees paid by these international students will be nearly the same as those paid by Canadian students.
International students enrolled in a PhD program are eligible for the International Doctoral Scholarship.
Students who began their studies at the University of Ottawa before September 2021 should check the Differential tuition fee exemption webpage (before September 2021).
MASTERS DEGREE AND GRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMS:
The value of the Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship depends on the program. For example, if you enroll in the Faculty of Science and tuition fees for international students are $8,490.60 for the Fall term, you will receive a scholarship of $5,500. This means you will only have to pay $2,990.60 in tuition fees.
To be eligible for the Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship, you must:
- accept an offer of admission into a program of study offered only in French;
- hold a secondary or postsecondary diploma attesting to a minimum of two years of study in French; and
- for programs that offer compulsory courses in both official languages (English and French), enrol in the compulsory courses offered in French.
The differential tuition fee exemption scholarship cannot be combined with the Education Bursary for International Master’s Students.
